With one breath,
a candle flickers, small.
With another,
a golden flame awakes.

Fleeting Sweetness
You and I.
Walking down the streets.
Hand in hand.
Sunlight gilds your face.
Who are you to choose me. Who am I to say yes or no.
Your every action spells adoration. I soak in your love like sunlight.
Like a thirsty man craves cool water.
But this brightness that you bring...
I can taste its fleeting sweetness, the promise of pain to come.
How can I bring myself to trust it or you?
Stop talking.
Shut up.
Shut up.
